THINKING OF SOUND AND VOICEOVER

At the very beginning of my coursework I had an idea of not doing the voiceover for my animation. I thought that such a simple cartoon could compensate the lack of dialogues and discussions by focusing on diverse shots and heroes’ emotions which would explain the idea and the story plot.

I have done some research on similar cartoons which do not use dialogues and found out which techniques they used to balance the story and make it interesting.

I found out that these animations still utilised sound but have made an emphasis on basic sounds, such as steps, voiced pauses, etc. I think, this is how I would do sounds in my animation because I would like to focus on visual images of the story. In addition, this would make expand my audience, no matter if they speak English or not. This is extremely important in today’s globalised world where people from all over the world can access any information they want.
